A 300m section of main water pipeline, adjacent to this busy dual carriageway near central Warrington, has suffered multiple failures over recent years.
The project required the complete replacement of the failing section whilst maintaining traffic flow on Winwick Road.
300m of 630mm replacement pipeline was installed using a combination of open cut (150m) and horizontal directional drilling (150m).
The pipeline and all fusion welds were successfully pressure tested prior to handover to the client.
